Democrats’ foolish push to defund the police led to skyrocketing crime rates in King County. It’s a perfect example of how awful Seattle policies impact the suburbs. To repair some of the damage, I’m pushing to restore funding to the King County Sheriff’s Office. I need your help!
Our Sheriff’s Office must have the resources to respond to our residents in moments of crisis. My plan restores funding gaps caused by the destructive “defund the police” movement.
My “Re-Fund the Police” initiative includes:
- Restoring cuts to deputies and support staff
- Re-establishing the gang unit
- Recruiting and retaining deputies
- Addressing crimes of hate and bias
- Enhancing community safety and supports
- Protecting service levels for non-emergency calls
- Providing tools and support to help deputies do their jobs effectively
I am committed to fighting for law enforcement – and I’ll take that commitment to Congress. My Democrat opponent remained silent when the King County Sheriff’s Office saw its budget slashed by $6.2 million and as violent crime rates have ticked higher and higher.
